The “Breaking the Silence!” project was also successfully evaluated!

The Erasmus + Strategic Partnership project "Breaking the Silence: Fight agains Violence and Abuse of Women" has been successfully approved and funded! In this project, participants will gain new tools to identify, diagnose and treat abuse of power against women.

Violence against women is a serious social problem across Europe. The Hungarian Anthropolis Association will work within the framework of European cooperation to support the work of professionals who work with victims of violence - or potential victims - in some form.

During the project, our organizations share and further develop the methods and knowledge that they have accumulated over the years in their work to eradicate violence against women.

The project has a twofold purpose: on the one hand, we want to develop our own knowledge and skills so that we can be better prepared both in knowledge and in methodological tools in our everyday work. We consider it extremely important that we are able to recognize violence - whether it be voiced or silenced - and also be aware of our potential when we want to take action against a recognized violent situation. On the other hand, our aim is to pass on the improved methods to organizations, professionals who are also committed to combating violence against women.

The methodological tools that we share with each other during the project:

June 2019: The 'Agrado' Association in Italy teaches a diagnostic tool to project staff who will help to identify conflict situations in which women are particularly exposed to any form of exploitation and violence.

August 2019: We have partnered with Polish partners, the Active Women Association to share their experiences of working with women affected by violence and raising awareness of the problem at a social level, on national level campaigns.

November 2019: The Anthropolis Association trains participants in a training on global dimensions and complexity of modern slavery developed in the Timeless Slavery program, and shares the Digital Storytelling Method, which focuses on the processing of personal stories, and helps raise awareness of the problem in society as broadly as possible. .

March 2020: Permacultura Cantabria, Spain, introduces a new method that supports the functioning of a healthy society, emotional management. The Youth Association from Transylvania (Romania) has been working with disadvantaged groups for a long time: they are supported in their adult education to overcome their disadvantages and manage their conflicts. Together with the Spaniards, we will have a longer training that will share our knowledge and experience so far on how to deal with conflict situations where violence is directed towards women.

The first mobility of the project is the kick-off meeting in Spain at the end of September.

The project is supported by the European Commission's Erasmus + program.
